The off-site training consists of a three-day Ambleside Internship during the academic year as well as one week of training during the summer break, known as the Summer Institute. Additionally, each week staff are given time to study together one of Charlotte Mason’s books in the Home Education Series. Specific, practical training is also provided in the form of various texts and discussions at weekly staff meetings. Regular classroom observations are intended to identify areas of teacher strength and weakness, and to provide teachers with the needed support, counsel and encouragement they need as they grow in the practice of the Ambleside educational philosophy.
